Ich habe das Buch diesmal gleichzeitig gelesen und als Hörbuch gehört - und was soll ich sagen: Was für ein genialer Trip!Im Mittelpunkt steht Sophie, die aus einer absolut grauenhaften Beziehung geflohen ist. Doch ihre Geschichte fängt da erst so richtig an. Sie sieht überall Gefahr, dabei wollte sie doch einfach nur frei und endlich sie selbst sein. Nach und nach wird all das, was so verworren war, Stück für Stück entschlüsselt. Die Drei-Teile-Struktur, die Enthüllungen und der Plottwist am Ende haben dem Ganzen die Krone aufgesetzt. Verdiente 5 Sterne von mir!

Spannend und mitreißend Sophie ist auf der Flucht vor einer gewalttätigen Beziehung und verschanzt sich in einem Bauwagen. Ob sie dort sicher ist, fragen nicht nur sie sich, sondern auch wir als Leser, denn immer wieder scheint es nicht so. Ob ihr Exfreund sie einholt oder doch die Vergangenheit? Das beschäftigt einen auf jeder Seite, was die Spannung durch das ganze Buch hinweg hoch hält. Das jetzige Geschehen wird immer wieder durch Kapitel von Sophies Vergangenheit unterbrochen, in der ihr Vater brutal ums Leben kann und bis heute nicht alle Tatsachen dazu geklärt sind. Das treibt Sophie um und scheinbar auch denjenigen der sie beobachtet, auch die Person kommt immer wieder in wenigen Kapiteln zu Wort. Man rätselt stets mit, was da vor sich geht und was vielleicht Sophies neue Arbeitgeber damit zu tun haben? Denn ihr Fotoauftrag ist auch ziemlich suspekt. Immer mehr Fragen kommen auf und man bekommt nur wenige Antworten. Dabei blieb Sophie für mich zeitweise etwas zu naiv, denn sie merkt durchaus schnell, dass etwas nicht stimmt. Es entwickelt sich dennoch zum Pageturner, der einen immer wieder den Atem anhalten lässt. Nur das doch sehr fulminante Ende gab dem Buch in meinen Augen einen kleinen Dämpfer, weil es doch konstruiert wirkte und im Epilog nicht genügend recherchiert wurde. Darauf gehe ich jedoch aufgrund von möglichen Spoilern nicht näher ein. Insgesamt konnte mich die Story rund um Sophie und ihr Geheimnis überzeugen, ich hing an den Seiten und bekam auch einen richtigen Thrill. Mit einem ausführlicheren Ende und zeitweisem Innehalten/Überlegen von Sophie wären hier volle 5 Sterne drin gewesen.
